Green House Data is happy to announce our recent purchase and installation of Coolerado air conditioning units for our data center’s in-row cooling system.
These cooling units use up to 90% less energy than conventional cooling systems. Additionally, they provide 100% fresh, filtered air, dramatically improving indoor air quality while removing dust, pollens and allergens.
As part of Green House Data’s green initiative, we have opted for an in-row cooling solution. In-Row cooling is a highly energy efficient cooling method for data centers providing local and focused cooling directly to front facing server cabinets, or “cold rows”. As the servers pull in the cold air, they expel the hot air into a “hot row” separated by special temperature containing curtains. This hot air lifts out of the building through exhausts in the roof. This keeps the cold air and warm air separated, keeping energy usage down.
Traditional data centers use a whole room cooling approach, thereby making their cooling units work harder as they optimize the temperature of the whole center. In-row cooling is said to reduce energy cost by as much as 67%. We are excited to have paired this cooling methodology with the highly energy efficient Coolerado cooling units for even the benefit to our budgets and then environment.
