July 2011

CHEYENNE, WY – July 20, 2011 – Green House Data, one of the nation’s first 100% green data centers offering cloud hosting and colocation services, announced today that they have achieved compliance with the AICPA’s Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16, Type II. The audit was performed by Linford & Co, LLP, a full service Certified Public Accounting firm who specialize in performing SSAE 16/SOC audits for organizations across North America, Europe and Asia. The company has found that Green House Data has met or exceeded the expectations and is fully SSAE 16, Type II Compliant Data Centercompliant to the standard.

“Because security and compliance for our customers is of critical importance we decided to pursue this accreditation.” stated Shawn Mills, President of Green House Data, “The combination of the SSAE 16, Type II Attestation with VMware technology, sustainability and the affordability offered by Green House Data will put our data center high above our competition.”

The SSAE audit of Green House Data reviewed the policies and procedures of the company in order to verify that the organization has put in place controls to mitigate risk and deliver high performance services. The audit analyzed multiple aspects of the company’s entity-level, Information technology and client controls.

Being SSAE 16, Type II Compliant positions Green House Data to attract more organizations within the health care, government and banking sectors as they stipulate a demonstrated level of compliancy through their highly regulated processes.

The SSAE 16 has two varieties: Type I or Type II. Type II, which Green House Data has achieved, is the most important as it verifies that for at least a six month time frame, the data center capably operates with both internal control design proficiency and operational effectiveness. Type I only measures for a point in time and does not audit operational effectiveness.

About the SSAE 16, Type II Attestation

June 15, 2011 was the date that the SSAE 16 officially replaced the now obsolete SAS 70. The key differences between SAS 70 and SSAE 16, Type II are that the SSAE 16 aligns the United States service organization reporting standards with the International Standard for Engagement, ISAE 3402. There is also the addition of a management assertion section within the audit report regarding design and operating effectiveness. Additionally, the SSAE 16 Type II requires tracking changes to controls, documentation on what changes are made and who approves them.
